Qamis Qabail: a garment according to the prophetic tradition

What is the Sunnah when it comes to men's clothing? This is an essential question in the life of a Muslim.

First, it is important to remember what the 'awra of a man is. The 'awra is the intimate part of the body that should not be revealed to anyone other than his wife. For men, it includes the area between the navel and the knees. Therefore, dear brother, it is obligatory for your dress to hide this part of your body.

Furthermore, the Sunnah is to wear what Muslims wear where the person lives. This is as long as the garment is not religiously forbidden. Sheykh Al-Utheymin also states that if this garment is forbidden, it becomes obligatory to stay away from it.

Finally, according to the mother of the believers, Umm Salamah, the garment that the Prophet liked the most was the thobe. (Reported by at-Tirmidhi and authenticated by Tirmidhi and Sheykh Al Albaani)

The thobe referred to in this athar is a type of dress that people wore in the time of the Prophet. It may be called a jubba today.

Thus, we can say that the thobe, including our famous Qabail Qamis, fulfills all these conditions, both obligatory and Sunni! A perfect outfit to follow the footsteps of our Noble Prophet.
