The kufi is the Islamic headgear that Muslim men wear on their heads. This hat worn only by Muslims completes their clothing. It is much more than an accessory. Indeed, it is an act of worship since our prophet mentioned it in the Sunna. Discover our different models of kufis in our Muslim store dedicated to men's ready-to-wear Muslim clothing.

A simple kufi can hide a noble act

We have chosen to list the kufis in our accessories section for the sake of organization. Nevertheless, we must specify that it is not correct to consider the kufi as a simple accessory. Indeed, it materializes an act of worship since our prophet and messenger may peace and blessing be upon him evoked it through his Sunna. Muslims wore it in the time of Prophet Muhammad. It was part of their style of dress and allowed them to distinguish themselves from polytheists.

Several hadiths show that covering one's head with a kufi (a hat) or an (imama) turban is part of the Sunnah. For example, in Sahih al Bukhari, Ibn Abbas reports that the Prophet wore a black turban when he spoke to the Sahabah. In another hadith, Ibn Umar reports that the Prophet used to wear a white hat. At-tabarani considers this account as hasan while As-suyuti considers it as sahih. Furthermore, the Prophet alayhi salat wa salam said in a hadith:

"The distinction between us and the polytheist is the turban on our hats".

We also remind you that the Muslim has the obligation to distinguish himself from the non-believers in his beliefs and acts of worship as well as in his customs.

Moreover, knowing that the Prophet wore a kufi should make us want to wear one. Indeed, following the authentic Sunnah in order to seek Allah' s pleasure is an act of worship. Allah rewards His servants according to their deeds. In addition, many scholars in the ummah consider praying with the head covered as mustahab. This perfects the dress of the servant.

The kufi in all its forms

From a spelling point of view, the kufi can be written in different ways: kufi, kachiya... Moreover, it can also be designated by other terms such as Taguiya. From an aesthetic point of view, you will find several colors available.

Some models of kufis have an elastic band to better hold the head. Others do not have it. It's up to you to choose! Some models are doubled. Others can show the hair or the skull through the mesh.
